How do I delete my account?
You can close your Imagina account yourself, whenever you want. It takes two steps: you ask for it in the app, then you confirm from your inbox. Nothing is deleted until you click the link in that email.

Where the button is
Open your account page (your avatar in the top bar, then Profile) and scroll to the bottom. The last section is a red Danger zone box with Delete your account.
Before you commit, that box shows what you are about to lose: how many of your worlds and universes are published, how many journeys you have, how many connected apps would be disconnected, and your exact credit balance.
The email confirmation
Pressing Delete my account does not delete anything. It asks you to type your handle (for example @naoki) to prove you meant it, then sends a confirmation link to the email address on your account. The link is valid for 60 minutes.
Opening the link takes you to a final page with the same summary, a checkbox, and one button. That button is the point of no return. If you never open the link, nothing changes and the request simply expires.
You can only request one confirmation email every few minutes. If you ask again too quickly, we tell you to check your inbox first.
What happens when you confirm
- Your worlds and universes are unpublished. Nobody can find or start them any more. The drafts themselves are kept, so journeys other players already started on your worlds keep working.
- Your journeys are permanently deleted. Every playthrough you own, and its turn history, is gone. There is no undo and no way for us to bring it back, so export anything you want to keep first.
- Your profile page is removed. Your public creator page returns a 404 and you disappear from the creators list.
- Your saved characters and profile images are deleted.
- Everything is signed out. Every device, and every connected app such as an MCP client, loses access immediately.
What we keep
Deleting your account is not the same as erasing every trace of you, and there are good reasons for that.
- Your handle stays reserved forever. It is never handed to somebody else, so nobody can show up later pretending to be you.
- An anonymised account record stays so that billing and moderation history remains consistent.
- Unpublished copies of the worlds you authored stay, because other players' journeys depend on them.
- Billing, moderation, and security records stay, including the prompts attached to billing entries. These are legally required records and we cannot rewrite them.
The Privacy Policy on playimagina.com describes this in full.
Credits and subscriptions are not refunded
Your credit balance is lost and is not recoverable. That includes purchased credits, bonus credits, and your free daily credits. We do not refund them, and we cannot move them to another account. If you have a large balance, spend it before you go.
If you have an active subscription, cancel it first. We do not cancel it for you, and account deletion is blocked while a paid plan is running or still inside a period you have already paid for. Cancel from the Subscription tab on the Credits page, wait for the current period to end, then delete.
When deletion is unavailable
The Danger zone tells you if something is in the way:
- A subscription is active or still running out. Cancel it and come back when the period has ended.
- Your email is not verified yet. The confirmation link is sent there, so verify the address first.
- A story turn is still being generated. Wait for it to finish, then try again.
- Your account is suspended, or it is an admin account. Write to [email protected].
Can I come back later?
Yes. Your email address is released when the account is deleted, so you can sign up again with the same address and start fresh.
It really is a fresh start though. The new account is a different account: no credits, no journeys, no worlds, and your old handle is still reserved, so you will need to pick a new one.
