How does branching work?
Branching lets you fork your journey at any turn to explore a different path without losing the original.
Branching lets you fork your journey at any turn to explore a different path without losing the original.
Creating a branch
- Find the turn you want to branch from.
- Open the turn menu (three dots) and select Start an alternate path.
- Optionally give the branch a name.
- Hit Create alternate path.
You're redirected to the new journey, which contains every turn up to the branch point. From there, you play forward with new choices. The original journey stays exactly as it was.
Where do branches live?
Branches are full, independent journeys. They show up in your journey list alongside everything else. The original and the branch don't affect each other: advancing one doesn't change the other.
Does branching cost credits?
Creating the branch itself is free. Only new turns you play after the branch point cost credits, same as any other turn.
Can I edit, regenerate, or undo a turn?
Yes. The story is yours to shape after the fact. Every turn has a menu (the three dots beside the narration) with tools to rewrite, regenerate, replay, or roll back. This article covers all of them and when to reach for each.
How do chapters and the Storybook work?
As your journey grows, Imagina keeps a clean, book-styled record of everything that has happened, and quietly organizes long stories into chapters. You read it all through the Storybook.
